The Worlds of Mamoru Hosoda

This summer, HOME presents a short season of films from celebrated Japanese animator Mamoru Hosoda, screening on the big screen in stunning 4K for the first time. 

Across three of Hosoda’s earlier works and the 2018 contemporary classic that earned the director an Oscar nomination for Best Animated Film, these selections showcase Hosoda’s signature, and singular, vision as animator. Grounded in autobiography, but brought to life with sci-fi and fantasy flourishes, Hosoda’s work is simultaneously grounded and imaginative, emotionally rich and visually vibrant.
