Following his 1956 success Written on the Wind, Douglas Sirk reunited with that film’s stars - Rock Hudson, Robert Stack and Dorothy Malone - the following year to make Tarnished Angels: an adaptation of William Faulkner’s 1935 novel, Pylon.

Set during the great depression, the film revolves around a war hero turned daredevil barnstorming pilot, his family and a journalist who comes into their orbit.

Shot in black and white by Irving Glassberg, this is an under-seen gem from one of Hollywood’s greatest directors.

This film will screen with trailers, but no adverts.
