Once upon a time – well, 25 years ago – in a faraway swamp, there lived an ogre named Shrek.
The ogre’s precious solitude is shattered by the arrival of an assortment of annoying fairytale characters – all banished from their kingdom by the evil Lord Farquaad.
Determined to save their home, and especially his, Shrek makes a deal with Farquaad. Shrek, accompanied by the loveable Donkey, sets out to rescue the beautiful Princess Fiona to be Farquaad’s bride. But the challenge of rescuing the Princess might be small compared to her deep, dark secret.
