Join artists Lizzie McLoughlin and Phoebe Foxtrot for a gentle and reflective workshop created for people with lived experience of birth.
This workshop is part of Lizzie Mcloughlin’s ‘Manchester Birth Stories’ Exhibition in the Granada Foundation Galleries on display until Sun 15 Jun. As a participant you are invited to explore and express your birth story through a personal process of mark making, collage and stitching.
The workshop will be an opportunity to work with Lizzie McLoughlin and Phoebe Foxtrot, using materials including watercolor, pastel, fabric, and even suture thread - a material symbolically linked to healing and repair.
This workshop offers a safe and supportive space to connect with varying experiences whether tender, joyful, complex or unresolved. Through guided prompts and creative activities, you’ll be encouraged to reflect on themes of transformation, strength, vulnerability and care.
You’ll be invited to make expressive marks, stitch shapes or symbols, and play with materials that carry emotional resonance.
