FĀGOGO brings together an exhibition of striking digital art exploring some of the major issues impacting Pacific peoples.

Home is a precarious notion for cultures in a constant state of motion and displacement. FALE SĀ / SACRED HOUSE asks FAFSWAG artists to create a site forceremonial transformation, imagining a future HOME for our celestial bodies, sacredobjects, ancestral stories and collective gatherings.

Fāgogo refers to a traditional storytelling technique from the Samoan Islands. In FALE SĀ / SACRED HOUSE, FĀGOGO is a digital exhibition where contemporary artists use different styles of storytelling and transmission to weave together a living archive of cultural knowledge and experience. Artists bring their own unique focus to some of the major issues impacting Pacific peoples.

The exhibition brings into question the nature of our relationships to our communities, our environment, and the constantly expanding cosmos, with artists directly accessing ancestral memories to craft collective stories and imagine Indigenous futures.

Curated by FAFSWAG, featuring Tanu Gago, Tapuaki Helu, Nahora Ioane, Māhia TeKore, Pati Tyrell and Jaimie Waititi.
