Writer and director Leslie Arliss reunited with Margaret Lockwood and James Mason – the stars of 1943’s The Man in Grey – for what is perhaps the most famous of all the Gainsborough Melodramas: The Wicked Lady.

Based on the novel, Life and Death of the Wicked Lady Skelton by Magdalen King-Hall, the film tells story of Barbara – a noblewoman who, not enjoying her dull but privileged life, embarks upon a clandestine career as a highway robber. During her extra-curricular exploits, Barbara meets the dashing Captain Jackson, and the pair become partners in crime.

This event will begin at the advertised time with no ads or trailers.
