After excommunication from the Church, the dark, fanatical Father Michael Rayner seeks the ways of the Devil.
Founding a closed convent called The Children of the Lord, Father Michael sets about rearing children in the ways of Satan.
His latest victim is set to be Catherine Beddows: a young woman who has been selected to become the Devil's daughter on her eighteenth birthday, and to reign as his representative on Earth.
Only Catherine’s father, Henry, and an occult specialist named John Verney can save her, as they embark on a mesmeric and cataclysmic confrontation with Father Michael for Catherine's soul.
