When Katherine Thorn’s pregnancy ends in a stillbirth in a Rome hospital, her husband Robert – a US diplomat – secretly substitutes the child for another baby whose mother has died.
Little Damien thrives, but, at his fifth birthday party, his nanny mysteriously dies. Father Brennan also expires after warning Robert that he has adopted Lucifer's son. With his fears escalating, Robert seeks out an exorcist in the hope of confirming his son’s identity and averting Armageddon.
