About Dog-friendly Screenings
We’re looking forward to welcoming you and your beloved dogs to our first dog-friendly screening this May.
To help keep your furry friend comfortable, this is a relaxed screening. This means that capacity will be limited, the lights will stay on low, and the volume will be turned down a little.
Ensure you have read the terms and conditions for attendance and please follow our house rules to ensure everyone has a good time:
- You are responsible for your dog at all times at HOME. In buying a ticket for this screening, you take responsibility for the welfare and behaviour of your dog. Any losses or damages are the responsibility of the dog owner.
- Dogs should be kept on lead and be accompanied at all times. This includes when you’re using our toilet facilities. In the event of any fire alarm, ensure you keep your dog with you as you evacuate.
- Only well-socialised dogs are allowed to attend. Please don’t bring nervous or reactive dogs.
- Dogs that require a muzzle are to have this in place for the duration of their time in HOME.
- Please only bring one dog per person. Visitors without dogs are welcome to attend.
- No dogs on cinema seats or other furniture. Small dogs can sit on your lap. Your dog may be more comfortable on its own blanket.
- Please clean up after your dog. We can supply cleaning products for you to use, if required.
- Dogs are to be taken outside for toileting. Any dog waste is to be disposed of in bins outside of the venue.
- You’re welcome to bring treats or long-lasting chews to keep your dog entertained and relaxed, but no meals in feeding bowls. Water for dogs will be available for the screening.
Top tips: how to help your dog behave in the cinema and make this a great experience for all attendees.
- Take them for a run beforehand: ensuring they’re well exercised, have had mental stimulation and are suitably tired will help your dog chill a bit better in their new surroundings at the cinema.
- Ensure they’ve toileted in advance of coming into the building.
- Give them something to do: a long-lasting chew or a favourite toy will help them settle during the film.
- Know when to leave: if you spot signs of stress in your dog at any time (panting, trembling), it’s time to leave – your dog’s welfare is more important than the cost of the ticket, so make the right call early. Similarly, if your dog is barking at the screen too much or disturbing other dogs or visitors, it might be best to call it a day and perhaps just take them for a nice walk in the park.
