When an alien is inadvertently left behind on earth and pursued by government agents, he takes refuge in the Taylor family’s garden shed. 

After being discovered by young Elliot Taylor and named E.T., the alien forms a close bond with his new friends on earth. But with government officials still on the hunt for the extra-terrestrial visitor, E.T. and Elliot must find a way to send E.T. home.
