HOME is delighted to present Omid Asadi's new commission for the HOME Arches. The work itself responds to the architecture of the building itself, drawing inspiration from its form and structure. His practice brings together opposing elements, to evoke a sense of tension and harmony.

Omid's work often explores these contrasts, delving into a diverse range of disciplines, exploring poignant issues such as the human condition, immigration, identity and the environment. For this specific work, Omid Asadi was inspired by stained glass, an artform of particular significance to him. Rooted in both Western and Eastern traditions, the stained glass is an artform that bridges Western and Eastern traditions, carrying deep cultural and symbolic meanings.

Asadi’s work celebrates the new space as a site for artistic collaboration and transformation. It marks the coming together of artists working within the space and the possibilities that are yet to unfold.

Head to the HOME Arches on Whitworth Street West to view the work on display in the windows.

Omid Asadi is one of the 'At HOME with Jerwood' Resident Artists, where he is currently exploring new mediums in his artistic practice and elevating the scale of his work. To find out more about Omid, please visit this link
