HOME presents The Home We Made, a new production by HOME, co-created with Malandra Jacks and the people of Manchester, resulting in a powerful, city-shaped work that places lived experience at the heart of an ambitious theatrical production, bringing authentic Manchester stories to HOME’s Main Stage.

Performed by local artists who have engaged via HOME’s community programme Home from HOME, The Home We Made is a patchwork of voices exploring how we build community and nurture belonging. Bringing together a diverse range of joyful and reflective narratives through a visually striking piece that incorporates storytelling, film and projection. This unique piece of theatre will appeal to a wide range of audiences across our vibrant city.

The Home We Made invites you into the lives of residents born and bred in Manchester and those who have chosen to make it their home. We are proud to present this debut performance on HOME’s Theatre 1 stage, showcasing the talent that thrives in Greater Manchester.

The The Home We Made cast and co-creators are community artists engaged through HOME’s community programme, Home from HOME, whose creative work across Greater Manchester informs and shapes the production. Built through close relationships with local communities, placing Manchester voices at the heart of the performance.

HOME are delighted to collaborate with Malandra Jacks. Their most recent production Census was on stage at HOME in November 2025. Malandra Jacks have also worked with organisations including Manchester International Festival, Contact, Manchester City Council, Bolton Octagon, Gallery Oldham, and The Royal Exchange.
