Young Identity, HOME’s resident artists have a long history of delivering dynamic poetry and spoken word workshops for young people at HOME, Contact and at events across Manchester. The group meet every Monday at HOME where their workshops are open to all young people aged between 15 and 25.
Poets have written in response to the artistic programme at HOME and their work has been showcased through specially commissioned events such as My Country Curtain Raiser, If You’re Gonna Do it Do it Right and The Scar opening performance.
In this collection Young Identity have curated some of this work, alongside short insights and photographs about the process of responding to HOME’s exhibition. Join us to celebrate these special collaborations with some very special guests.

Young Identity is a Manchester-based spoken word collective who run creative workshops locally, giving young people opportunities to perform their written work across the UK. In the past, they have worked with artists such as Lemn Sissay, Saul Williams, Linton Kwesi Johnson, Kate Tempest and the late Amiri Baraka.
