The Glee Club

The Library Theatre Company Presents

It’s 1962, and five hard-working hard-drinking Yorkshire miners – Jack, Colin, Walt, Scobie, and Bant – and their pianist, Phil – have a well-respected and much-loved a capella musical act on the northern working men’s club circuit.
They raise a small fortune for local charities and good causes and enjoy their moments in the spotlight, which contrast with their back-breaking work down the dark and dangerous pit, and they’re bloody good at it.
But the swinging 60s are just around the corner – is the imminent revolution in popular culture about to render their turn a thing of the past? At the same time, personal tensions threaten to tear apart lifelong friendships. Can their lives ever be the same again?
