Set in rural County Galway, the Beauty Queen of Leenane relates the tale of old Meg Folan, manipulative and complaining and her lonely, forty year old daughter, Maureen.
Trapped in a desolate cottage and equally desolate lives, the women bicker and squawk in a bare-knuckle grudge match until one last chance of love arrives for Maureen in the person of a kindly neighbour.
