Colin Dexter, the man behind the phenomenally successful series of ‘Inspector Morse’ novels, added to his lengthy list of accolades last week when he was awarded the prestigious ITV3 Writer’s Award for Classic TV Drama.
Colin will tell all when he presents From Books to Box, an entertaining one-man show in which he explains the trials and tribulations of transforming full-length novels into 90-minute screen dramas, at the Library Theatre on Sunday 16 November.
Manchester’s very own John Thaw starred in many of the BAFTA-winning dramas, and Colin even appeared in many of them himself, much like film director Alfred Hitchcock, who popped up in minor roles in many of his films, although he was not given a speaking role until 1993!
