David Hare’s wounderful new play explores the rich, shifting relationship between a wealthy restauranter and his former mistress, who has become a dedicated teacher at an inner-city comprahensive school. It expresses fully his belief in the transforming power of love and sets the former lovers on opposing sidesin a contest between private desire and political belief.
