Yusra Warsama’s powerful new stage production ‘Of All The Beautiful Things In The World‘ premieres in Manchester this Spring.

Manchester.
It’s raining.

In one house.
On one estate.

A sanctuary.
A pressure cooker.

A mother tries to protect her daughters from what feels like an ever-changing world. As the generations clash and differences come to the surface its feels like a futile effort.

She comes from a world of proverbs.
They come from a world where everything is lived online and expressed in 280 characters.
Their lives played out against a constant backdrop of being ‘othered’ in their own country.

The death of their father causes the pressure to build and the outside world to seep in whether they like it or not.

The air is closing in.
Something has got to give.

Writer and Director Yusra Warsama (Royal Exchange ‘Nora: A Dolls House’, Hulu’s ‘Castle Rock’) takes Lorca’s classic ‘The House of Bernada Alba’ as inspiration for this powerful new production, as she exports the play from the sunshine of Spain to the rain-soaked streets of Manchester Moss Side.
