Little And Large

Syd Little and Eddie Large first met in a Manchester pub. Syd was born in the city and Eddie moved here from the Gorbals area of Glasgow when he was nine. At his first meeting, Syd was on stage dressed as a teddy boy in crepe-soled shoes and drain-pipe trousers, singing the hits of the day and Eddie, an aspiring professional footballer, ended up heckling him all night. Their break came in 1971 when they won Opportunity Knocks. They are now one of Britain’s top double acts and eddie still heckles Syd when he tries to sing.
