Kema Sikazwe is also known as Kema Kay. Brought up in the west-end of Newcastle. Kema developed a passion for rap, singing, and songwriting which he developed in a local youth project where he spent most of his time as a teen. It wasn’t until his early 20s he got interested in acting where he went on to land a main role in BAFTA, BIFA Palme D’or award-winning film I Daniel Blake, and an appearance 2016s Lady Macbeth. Eager to learn and build his craft he attended live theatre regularly becoming an associate artist at Live Theatre which led to writing and performing his debut show "Shine" receiving a 4-star review in the Herald as well as The Guardian. Shine is now being made into a TV musical Drama. he's also gone on to explore radio presenting where he was commissioned by the BBC world service to present a three-part radio documentary series called "Finders Keepers" about the looting and return of ancient artifacts. When not on stage, TV screen, or radio he runs a studio where he gives opportunities to young people to record. He also delivers songwriting workshops where he goes into schools, youth projects, and the community. To teach others how to use music as an outlet to express their emotions as well as build their confidence through songwriting, singing, and rap.

Jodie Wild is a classically trained actress having graduated from Newcastle College with a BA (Hons) in Drama Performance in 2019, as well as having graduated from Central School of Speech and Drama, London with an MA 2020-2021. Whilst at college Jodie performed in ‘Where Do We Stand?’ which toured across her hometown Newcastle upon Tyne and was toured to the Birmingham Rep Theatre in 2018. Her film ’Unexpecting’, which she co-wrote and took on the role of the Artistic Director, whilst also playing the female protagonist, has been selected for Lift-Off Film Festival Berlin and Manchester 2022. Jodie has also written and performed a one-woman piece, in the form of spoken-word poetry, which she produced herself in multiple venues around the North-East. More recently Jodie has worked with award-winning filmmaker, Paisley Walsh, on short film drama, ‘Untethered’, and will be shooting her first feature film with Multi-Award-Winning Director, John Turner.

Janine was born in South Shields and has recently located back home to Jarrow. Janine studied at Newcastle College and Cumbria Institute of the Arts. Previous theatre credits include A Piece of Cake, Who’s Under Where?, Stepping Out, Blithe Spirit and A Night in Provence at The Mill Theatre, Sonning. Other theatre credits include Riot at The Customs House, The Comedy of Errors, Alex, The Warrior and The Winter Star with NTC Touring Theatre Company and Stepping Out at Frinton Summer Theatre. Janine also starred in Pantomime at The Exchange, North Shields with Mendes Management. TV credits include Byker Grove, Tracey Beaker Returns, The Interceptor and ITV’s Vera. Janine also starred alongside Joanne Froggatt in a film for Channel 4, ‘In Our Name’ which was nominated for several awards. Radio includes ‘Believe It’, alongside Richard Wilson and Sir Ian Mckellen for BBC Radio 4. I, Daniel Blake is Janine’s debut with Northern Stage.

Micky is an actor, singer and occasionally a stand-up comedian who has appeared on all of the major theatre stages in the North-East, most recently starring as ‘The Blackmailed’ in ‘Reiver: Tales From the Border’ Last summer he appeared in Curve Leicester’s award winning version of Billy Elliott and has played in theatres across the UK including appearing as Jimmy in Lee Hall’s Pitmen Painters (Oldham Coliseum), His many TV and film credits include George Gently, Hospital People, The Dumping Ground and Man Down with Greg Davies. In September 2021 Micky reprised his role in one man show ‘Carrying David’ the amazing true story of boxer Glenn McCrory and his brother David, as well as producing this particular run. The show took in the North-East, London and Northern Ireland receiving five star reviews everywhere. As frontman of the band ‘This Ground Moves’ Micky played all over Europe with artists including Jake Bugg, Tim Burgess and Ocean Colour Scene. The band released the album - ‘You are not the end of The World.’ He also wrote and produced stand up show ‘What the Fudge’ which he performed at Edinburgh Fringe, Jesterval and at The Stand Newcastle.
