Warm, sometimes a little sad but mostly very, very funny, Happy Families follows the boisterous fortunes of one ordinary Northern family through years of change in the sixties and seventies.
These are ironfisted men and houseproud women with their roots firmly in the close community of terraced streets. Now son John’s got into college. It won’t be easy- not for John, not for any of them. But there’s such pride!
Happy Families is the latest great play from Wakefield-born John Godber- ex rugby player, ex teacher and now one of the most popular playwrights in the world with hits like ‘Teechers’ and ‘Bouncers’.
