All Because of Love is the result of Ali Jaberi and his creative team’s residency here at HOME for the duration of Refugee Week. The performance focuses on the poetry and portrayal of episodes from the life of the 13th century Persian poet Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Rumi. Hailed as the supreme poet of love, his poems have fired the imagination of millions of readers worldwide.
The performance also depicts Rumi’s meeting with the mysterious Shams-i Tabrizi, his spiritual guide who transformed Rumi to the mystic and poet we know. Rumi’s major lyrical work, which is named after Shams, is replete with expression of spiritual love and the extraordinary vision of compassion that Shams brought to the poet.
