Rachel Maclean

Rachel Maclean was born 1987 in Edinburgh and lives and works in Glasgow. She has a BA in Drawing and Painting from Edinburgh College of Art. She has had solo exhibitions at: Zabludowicz Collection, London (2014); Edinburgh Printmakers (2013); Collective Gallery, Edinburgh (2013); and Trade Gallery, Nottingham (2013). In 2013, Maclean received the Margaret Tait Award for her contribution to Glasgow Film Festival and was shortlisted for the Film London Jarman Award. Rachel Maclean is shortlisted once again fro the Film London Jarman Award 2016, and will represent Scotland at the Venice Biennale 2017 in a solo pavilion.

Wot u :-) about? at HOME is her largest solo show to date and features all-new work, including print series We Want Data! (2016), film installation It’s What’s Inside The Counts (2016), new sculptures and the launch of Maclean’s first major monograph: a full-colour 160 page publication distributed by Cornerhouse Publications featuring essays by economist William Davies, academic Melissa Gronlund and contributions including a Q&A with the artist from curators Bren O’Callaghan and Sarah Perks (HOME, Manchester).
