Bola who is also known by his performance name Bollibubbles is a non-binary, Nigerian-born performer and writer based in Manchester. Their dance style is rooted in afrobeat, amapiano and dance hall.
They are part of Ghetto Fabulous, a collective of performers in the Northern Ballroom scene. Although they are part of the ballroom scene, they don’t vogue at balls but instead, walk the ‘sex siren’ category.
Most of Bola’s writing is based on their experiences. They create poetry from the perspective of a gay immigrant and their lived experiences in Nigeria and the UK. In their writing and performance, they explore experience from a place of reflection and healing.
