Alejandría Cinque

Madrid-born artist Alejandría works with different mediums such as photography, drawing, performance and action to develop projects of high political content in relation to social movements, revolution, concepts of ‘generation’ and civil disobedience, aiming to generate new strategies of activism. The artist also works on new ways of perception and reflection of the everyday. The symbiosis between concept and image becomes the conducting wire of Cinque’s art practice.

Alejandría’s photographs have been published in magazines such as Cyan, Vice and Vogue, and included in the book SUBCULTURCIDE. The artist won the XVII PROPOSALS 2013 award for visual creation. Regarding to performance, Alejandría has worked in collaboration with professionals such as Elena Córdoba -being part of Bist Du Bei Mir- and Juan Dominguez -performing Dirty Room. As solo artist, Cinque has shown work at the Sala Águila, performed at S.A.D and released the performance work AFTER at Pradillo theatre in Madrid; presented abroad for the first time at HOME, Manchester.
