Dhanveer Singh Brar

Dhanveer Singh Brar is a Lecturer in Black British History in the School of History at the University of Leeds. His areas of research include twentieth century black diasporic culture; race and popular music; race and popular culture; race and intellectual history; black studies; cultural studies; postcolonial studies and sound studies. He has previously held posts at Goldsmiths, University of London (Department of Visual Cultures), University College London (Institute of Advanced Studies) and University of Pennsylvania (Penn Humanities Forum). Dhanveer is currently working on a book, titled Small Talk: On the Corner with Gil Scott-Heron.
