Free studio space for Manchester artists

HOME Arches is a free, bespoke artist development hub designed to support artists across a variety of disciplines in Greater Manchester. We provide free high-quality studio spaces, alongside an extensive programme of residencies, events and workshops, working with up to 2,000 artists each year and powering creativity in the North.

Spanning three railway arches situated between our main building and Whitworth Street West, HOME Arches offers 5,000 hours of free creating space annually, with 50% of studio space dedicated to artists from groups currently underrepresented in the industry, including members of the Global Majority, d/Deaf and disabled artists, and artists from lower socio-economic backgrounds. HOME Arches is transforming the quality of studio space in Manchester, incubating outstanding art for audiences here at HOME and beyond.

How can you help? 

HOME Arches costs £500,000 per year to run. We need to fundraise £150,000 each year towards these costs. Your support ensures we can continue to offer free space, provide bespoke training, and create valuable employment opportunities for artists. 

Donate to HOME Arches, and your support goes beyond just space – it ensures we can offer tailored residencies, workshops and employment opportunities that give artists the time and space they need to thrive. 

How your donation can help: 

£50 could provide essential materials for artist workshops or residencies 
£320 could cover eight hours of studio time for one artist 
£5,000 could fund ‘Explore & Develop’ grants for new ideas
