HOME ARCHES BOOKING

What are HOME Arches?

Since opening in 2015, HOME has been committed to supporting the professional and creative development of artists from all backgrounds.

Situated under the railway arches behind HOME’s main building, the HOME Arches are three unique studio spaces developed in close collaboration with our Artist Panel.

Every year, we provide up to 5,000 hours of studio space to artists, completely free of charge. At least 50% of this time is dedicated to artists from groups currently underrepresented in the industry.

A space to rehearse, develop and experiment, the use of the Arches is spread between residencies, workshops, and booking requests. We know that accessing space to make work is essential and significantly eases the financial burden on creatives looking to develop their practice.

What happens next?

We typically discuss new requests on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month, and aim to come back to you two weeks after your request. Please note that most spaces tend to be booked three months in advance.

If your request is successful, we will ask that you provide us with a Risk Assessment, agree to sign our Code of Conduct and send space and technical requirements before confirming your booking.

All artists using HOME Arches for the first time will need to complete an induction before using the space, which will take the first 20 minutes of their time.

We make decisions based on several factors:

Availability of the spaces required
Meeting our target of giving 50% of space to underrepresented artists
Keeping a balance between artforms
Keeping a balance between activity (eg rehearsals, workshops, residencies)
How well the logistics of the activity sit alongside other activities in the space and building at that time.
Whether the work meets any of our strategic and departmental aims

If you would like to prepare before filling in the form, you can download the list of questions here.
