Kickstart: Junior Marketing and Communications Assistant

Kickstart is a scheme for 16-24 year olds who are unemployed and on Universal Credit.

The Junior Marketing and Communications Assistant is a new role within the Marketing and Communications team at HOME. The team promote HOME’s events, build audiences, and manage the digital platforms.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone new to marketing and communications or the arts to gain hands-on experience of:
• marketing tactics
• social media content creation and campaign planning
• SEO
• website management
• media relations and press events
• data analysis and reporting.

You will spend your time working with the Digital Communications Manager and wider team to carry out marketing and communications activity, You will also be working collaboratively with departments across the organisation.

As well as on-the-job training, you will be supported by wrap-around training from The Factory Academy. This training will be a couple of hours, once a week (during your 25hrs of work). Some workshops will take place in person and some virtually. The modules you will be covering include:
– Personal and Professional Development
– Digital
– Global Thinking and Sustainability.

What we’re looking for:

You will have an interest in marketing, communications and digital, but you don’t need to have had hands-on experience. We’re interested in speaking to people who are:
– Interested in working with people and in a team
– Organised and able to work to deadlines
– Interested in learning more about building audiences for arts venues
– Creative, curious, and can bring new ideas
– Keen and eager to learn more about the arts

*Eligible and interested young people need to speak to their own JCP work coach who will be able to make the referral*
