Under the Bombs

Directed by Philippe Aractingi

UNDER THE BOMBS is an award-winning docu-fiction road movie shot during the 2006 war between Israel and Lebanon that left that country’s infrastructure destroyed. The film features just two actors who portray a Shiite woman returning to Lebanon to rescue the son she’d left with her sister for safekeeping and a womanising Christian taxi driver who agrees to take her south. Their voyage takes place against the real backdrop of bombing, demonstrations, devastation and grief as the horrible drama unfolds around them.
