UK Premiere/ No mires a los ojos

Directed by Félix Viscarret

This ingenious and darkly comic film is based on a novel by Juan José Millás, a Spanish author renowned for his psychological fiction, which deftly plays with his thematic obsessions: identity, symmetry, inhabitable spaces, love, fidelity and jealousy.

Damián, a carpenter with 20 years of service for one company, is driven wild by his sudden dismissal and runs off to hide in the first place he finds – an ancient wardrobe on the back of a removal truck. When he’s delivered into the heart of a family’s home, Damián makes the impulsive decision to stay, lurking in the shadows. As the storyteller peels back layers of fantasy and reality, the tension builds towards a delightfully dark denouement.
