Vietnam’s entry for the Oscars, the Sundance-winning THREE SEASONS is the first American film to be shot in Vietnam since the war, played by Vietnamese actors in their native language. Visually stunning, the triptych drama explores the new Vietnam of Coca-Cola and marble hotels from the perspective of four characters with different responses to the encroaching capitalist ‘progress’. A young lotus picker brings an old poet back to life while a Saigon cyclo driver pines for an ambitious prostitute. Meanwhile, a GI searching for his daughter encounters instead a young boy who’s a street-wise entrepreneur.
