Following his successful foray into genre filmmaking with OUT OF SIGHT, Soderburgh returns with a nod to seminal sixties and seventies avenger thrillers like GET CARTER and POINT BLANK. Stamp plays ans English born ex-con who travels to L.A. to investigate the mysterious death of his daughter. The trail leads to a sleazy record producer (Fonda) and mounting levels of violence. A stylish tour de force, THE LIMEY boasts a taut, intricate script, an evocative period soundtrack and excellent use of California locations. But the biggest treat is the performance by sixties icons Stamp and Fonda.
