The Informer

Directed by John Ford

In 1917, drunken IRA man Gypo Nolan grasses on his leader to the Black & Tans for £20 then struggles to undue his treachery. Director John Ford’s effort is considered closer to Liam O’Flaherty’s novel than the 1929 British versions (silent and sound) and was rewarded with numerous Oscars.
