The Colour of Paradise

Directed by Dir Majid Majidi

THE COLOUR OF PARADISE offers a lyrical exploration of the relationship between seeing and believing. Eight-year-old Mohammad is blind but can see more than most. He is open to possibility and has a strong faith. Emotionally blinded by the death of his wife and burdened by his imperfect son, Mohammad’s father believes in nothing. Soon, the problems between the two lead to greater trouble. Stunningly shot yet subtly directed, the film belongs to its young lead, himself actually blind. Deceptively simple yet emotionally powerful, THE COLOUR OF PARADISE will leave no one untouched.
