The Baader-Meinhof Complex

Directed by Uli Edel

Set in the political turmoil of 1970s Germany, Edel’s THE BAADER-MEINHOF COMPLEX documents the violent confrontations between the German State and the Left-wing Red Army Faction (RAF). Screenwriter Bernd Eichinger (DOWNFALL) and the production team sought absolute authenticity when making the film and much of the dialogue is based on original speeches, eye witness accounts and clandestine messages passed between RAF members in Stammheim prison. The film boasts exceptional performances from a raft of young German talent: Martina Gedeck (THE LIVES OF OTHERS) and Moritz Bleibtreu (THE EXPERIMENT) and a stellar turn from the doyen of European cinema, Bruno Ganz.
