Summer 1993

Six-year-old Frida has just lost her mother to AIDS. During her mother’s illness, Frida was living with her grandparents and her aunt in Barcelona. But now, according to her mother’s will, she must move to the village where her uncle, aunt, and three-year-old cousin, Anna, live. Before the summer is over, Frida has to learn to cope with her emotions, and her adoptive parents have to learn to love her as their own daughter. In a gorgeous rural setting, where the children roam the forest and play in barns, and with some wonderful especially composed music, this autobiographical film is a real pleasure to watch.
