The feature debut of director Dörrie, STRAIGHT THROUGH THE HEART follows Anna Blume, a young supermarket worker who accepts an usual proposal from a much older man. Partly an autobiographical tale of the director, the films shuns cliché to present an attentive study of male-female relationships and loneliness.
