The first English-language film from South Korean director Park Chan-wook (Oldboy) is a tense atmospheric thriller. Nicole Kidman plays the newly widowed and emotionally unstable Evelyn Stoker who falls under the spell of her charismatic prodigal stepbrother Charlie (Matthew Goode). However, her daughter India (Mia Wasikowska) is more suspicions of Charlie’s intentions, particularly when he starts to take an interest in her. Stoker is a stylish and bold reworking of the gothic genre.
