Son frère

Directed by Patrice Chéreau

Based on the novel by Philippe Besson, SON FRERE won the Best Director award at the 2003 Berlin Film Fest. Thomas (Todeschini) is a solitary man who turns to his family when his fight against a strange blood disease falters. Younger brother Luc (Caravaca) finds his life is thrown into turmoil by his changed relationship with his brother. Beautifully shot, Chéreau has made a film that focuses on bodies in intimate detail as one degrades and how it affects the others.
