Shiraz: A Romance of India

Directed by Franz Osten

This epic silent film is a ravishing, romantic tale of the story behind one of the world’s most iconic structures: the Taj Mahal. Shot entirely on location, it features lavish costumes and gorgeous settings. Wholly Indian in conception and the brainchild of star and producer Himansu Rai, the film has been fully restored and features a new score from world-renowned sitar player and composer Anoushka Shankar.
