Queer Media and BGAF present: Strike a Pose

Directed by Ester Gould & Reijer Zwaan

What does it take to express yourself? Strike a Pose is the surprising and moving story of Madonna’s most famous troupe of dancers.

In 1990, seven young male dancers – 6 gay, 1 straight – joined Madonna on her Blonde Ambition tour. On stage and in the iconic film Truth or Dare they showed the world how to express yourself. Now, 25 years after their controversial performances they reveal the truth about life during and after the tour. Strike a Pose is a dramatic tale about overcoming shame and finding the courage to be who you are.

Accompanied by short film, Voguing: The Message (Dir Jack Walworth, Dorothy Low, David Bronstein, 1989, 14 mins). Documentary film featuring Willi Ninja and Jose Xtravaganza before Madonna discovered him.

Tickets to the film includes free entrance to the Strike A Pose afterparty at HOME with giants of the queer club scene DJs Jamie Bull (HomoElectric) and Claud Cunningham (Black Angel), spinning tunes in the Event Space until late – limited capacity – first come, first served.
