P’tang, Yang, Kipperbang

Directed by Michael Apted

During the summer of 1948 Alan spends most of his time imagining he is playing cricket for England and winning the Ashes. When he isn’t doing that he’s busy dreaming of kissing his classmate Ann. Once again drawing on his own childhood memories, here Rosenthal delivers a heart-warmingly nostalgic script that is brought to the screen with great skill by Michael Apted and even utilises the voice of legendary cricket commentator John Arlot.

Includes an episode of Rosenthal’s early 1970s Granada’s sit-com The Lovers.
