Possible Worlds

Directed by Robert Lepage

This is Lepage’s first English-language film, described by its director as “a cubist love story… a mathematical poem.” George Barber (McCamus)believes that “each of us exists in an infinite number of possible worlds”. Sadly, George has been found murdered, his brain removed, and two cops handle the investigation. Meanwhile, the film reveals George and his numerous possible relationships with his lover Joyce (Swinton). With so many parallel universes and planes of awareness possible, who’s to know which is the real story, if any, of Joyce and George? A mysterious love story that delves into the core of human identity.
