Permission

Directed by Soheil Beiraghi

Afrooz is the captain of the Iranian women’s futsal team. After eleven years of hard work, her dream is finally about to become a reality as she will be leading her team in the Women’s Asia Cup Final.  As she goes through security at Tehran airport, she finds that her husband, a famous television host, has banned her from exiting the country. Supported by her close friend and co-team player, her only option is to persuade her estranged husband to let her travel, as well as fight the conservative and hypocritical ways of the Futsal Federation.

Based on real events, Permission is the story of a woman who keeps on battling, hoping one day to change the law to allow for increased women’s rights.
