Performance

Directed by Nicolas Roeg & Donald Cammell

A cocky gang enforcer is forced to hide away in the townhouse of a reclusive, fading rock star, where he receives a real 60s makeover – sexually, chemically, and mentally. Performance not only features Mick Jagger’s sleazy screen début , but is also Nicolas Roeg’s graduation from cinematographer to director.

Barry Adamson: “This seventies British crime drama directed by Nicolas Roeg and Donald Cammell is scored by Jack Nitzsche, an American producer/composer who wrote songs that are performed here by an incredible ensemble of musicians from Randy Newman to Merry Clayton, The Last Poets, Buffie St Marie and of course Mick Jagger.”
