Parent and Baby Screening: The Midwife

Directed by Martin Provost

Dedicated midwife Claire (Frot) is a single mother to a grown-up son.  During a period of upheaval she receives a call that rekindles memories of her youth. Béatrice (Deneuve), her late father’s former mistress, asks to meet. Béatrice is a true bohemian – loud, colourful, egocentric and completely different to the focused, helpful Claire. The younger woman asks herself why, after all these years of silence, Béatrice has suddenly decided to approach her for help, and is at first less than enthusiastic. A dramatic comedy about the need for change, this is another powerful portrait of women from director Martin Provost.

Please note: this is a Parent and Baby Screening and is designed ONLY for parents, grandparents and carers attending with babies aged 12 months and under. More information on our Parent and Baby Screenings can be found here.
