Moonrise Kingdom

Directed by Wes Anderson

Quite possibly Wes Anderson’s most ambitious film to date, Moonrise Kingdom follows the escapades of the Khaki Scout brigade in 1965 New England, where two love-struck twelve-year olds make a secret pact to run away together into the wilderness. As the authorities and their worried  families try to hunt them down, a violent storm is brewing off-shore and the peaceful island community is soon turned upside down in the search for the youngsters.

The stellar cast features Anderson’s most eclectic ensemble since The Royal Tenenbaums including old hands Bill Murray and Jason Schwartzman. With Anderson and Roman Coppola on screenplay duties, expect meticulously stylised chaos to ensue.
