The travelling cameramen who worked for Edwardian filmmakers Mitchell & Kenyon recorded some of the earliest moving images of footie. With the football league based in the North they were able to capture lots of top action and teams – including footage of Burnley, Bury, Blackburn, United, Everton, Liverpool and an international held in Manchester. Don’t miss the opportunity to see these rare films on the big screen. The programme will be narrated by collection curator Vanessa Toulmin and Dave Russell, football expert from the University of Central Lancashire. Stephen Horne will provide live piano accompaniment.
