Melancholia

Directed by Lars von Trier

Lars von Trier, the enfant terrible of European cinema, follows his 2009 shocker Antichrist with a stunningly shot apocalyptic film. Kirsten Dunst stars with a stand-out performance as the beautiful bride-to-be Justine; a manic depressive struggling to balance her wedding celebrations whilst keeping a watchful eye on the fast-approaching planet Melancholia, which threatens doomsday for Earth. Also featuring an equally impressive performance from Charlotte Gainsbourg as her sister.
